SafeHouse Outreach
SafeHouse Outreach is an urban outreach committed to affecting real change in
the lives of those in the margins of society. They provide practical,
emotional, and physical assistance and help integrate individuals back into
society to lead healthy, functional lives. Started in 1982, SafeHouse
originally worked to rescue child prostitutes and runaways in Atlanta. They
have expanded into a full-service community development organization with
feeding programs for the homeless, job placement, a health clinic, youth
mentoring, and aid to pregnant teens.
The following is a list of ways you can be involved with
SafeHouse:
- Serve with your community group.
- Volunteer individually in one of their ongoing opportunities.
- Donate some of their most-needed items.
- Register to receive occasional updates on last-minute or one-time service
opportunities or donation needs.
Individual Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in serving with SafeHouse, their primary need for
individual volunteers is mentors. The program pairs you with a same-gender
child who has an incarcerated parent. As a mentor, you'll spend 4 hours a
month with your mentee during a 12-month commitment. For more information,
please contact Mary at

If you are interested in donating some of SafeHouse's most-needed items,

to serve.
