Open Hand
Open Hand has worked in Atlanta since 1989 to offer home-delivered meals and
nutrition education to people with critical, chronic, or terminal diseases, as
well as homebound seniors. They also provide nonperishable groceries to
low-income, medically eligible clients who have the ability to prepare their
own meals. Through their work, Open Hand aims to eliminate disability due to
nutrition-sensitive chronic disease.
The following is a list of ways you can be involved with the Open Hand:
- Serve with your
community group.
- Volunteer
individually in one of their ongoing opportunities.
- Register to
receive occasional updates on last-minute or one-time service
opportunities or donation needs.
Individual Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in serving with Open Hand, they have daily opportunities
available including:
- Delivering meals - Drive a route to deliver meals to people living with
symptomatic HIV/AIDS, homebound seniors and individuals with other critical
illnesses or disabilities.
